Getting Started with Meita.ai — Your First 10 Minutes

From zero to fully keyworded exports in under 10 minutes.

Whether you’re a stock photographer uploading to Adobe Stock, a designer selling on Shutterstock, or an AI artist pushing MidJourney renders to Freepik — the most tedious part of the workflow is writing metadata. Titles, descriptions, and 30+ keywords for every single image.

Meita.ai automates all of that with AI. Here’s how to go from zero to fully keyworded exports in under 10 minutes.

Step 1: Download and Install

Head to meita.ai and download the app for your platform (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Install it like any other desktop app.

When you first open Meita.ai, you’ll be asked to create an account or log in. The free trial gives you tokens to test everything before committing.

Step 2: Add Your Images

There are three ways to add files:

  • Click “Add Item” in the toolbar and select files from your computer
  • Drag and drop images directly into the app window
  • Paste from clipboard with Ctrl+V (great for screenshots)

Meita supports all common image formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, EPS, PSD) plus video formats (MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV) and audio files.

You can add hundreds or even thousands of files at once. The app handles large batches efficiently.

Step 3: Generate Metadata

Once your images are loaded, click “Generate All” in the toolbar. This opens the generation dialog where you can configure:

AI Model

Choose your AI provider. Super AI works out of the box with your included tokens. If you have your own API keys, you can also use Gemini, OpenAI, or OpenRouter models.

Prompt (Optional)

Leave empty to use Meita’s optimized default prompt, or write a custom prompt to guide the AI. For example: “Focus on the commercial use case of this image” or “Describe this as a travel photograph.”

Language

Set the output language. Default is English, but you can generate metadata in any language.

Required Tags

Add comma-separated tags that should always appear in the generated keywords. Useful for brand-specific terms or consistent categorization.

Click “Generate” and watch the AI process your images. You’ll see real-time progress in the status bar.

Step 4: Review and Edit

After generation completes, each image will have:

  • Title — A descriptive, SEO-friendly title
  • Description — A detailed description of the image content
  • Keywords — 30-50 relevant tags, sorted by relevance

Everything is editable inline. Click any field to modify it. You can also:

  • Click the pencil icon next to Tags to add or remove individual keywords
  • Use Bulk Edit (in the Generate dialog) to add/remove tags across all selected images at once
  • Filter by status (Success, Failed, Incomplete) to quickly find items that need attention

Step 5: Export

Click the Export button in the toolbar. Meita supports direct export to:

  • Adobe Stock (CSV + EXIF metadata)
  • Shutterstock (CSV format)
  • Canva (CSV format)
  • Freepik (semicolon-delimited CSV)
  • Dreamstime, Vecteezy, Envato, Pond5

Select your target platform, choose an output folder, and Meita will generate the properly formatted CSV files and optionally inject EXIF metadata directly into your image files.

Pro tip: Enable “Inject Metadata to Files” in Settings to write titles, descriptions, and keywords directly into the image EXIF data. Many stock platforms read this automatically on upload.
